Hot-line Trailer

KBR Rural Public Power District has access to a Hot-Line Trailer for live demonstrations emphasizing electric safety. These demonstrations provide an excellent opportunity for students and customers of all ages to see what happens when our day-to-day common materials make contact with high-voltage power lines.

Two linemen will show what happens to car tires, tree limbs, and other materials, when they make contact with 7,200 volts. The linemen will even cook a hot dog with the energized power line to emphasize what would happen should your flesh ever make contact with the conductor.
